Hello, I’m Julie Haine a Qualified and Professional Counsellor and Psychotherapist which means that I work within the boundaries and standards of behaviour set by the BACP’s ethical framework. My private practice is located at Broadstone Counselling.
What I Do – Working with Adults
I have experience of working with adults on a broad range of issues including childhood trauma and abuse, depression, loss, anxiety and self-esteem and personal development. I offer short or long-term counselling and my aim is to provide my clients with a safe, confidential and supportive environment in which they can examine past or current events that are causing them difficulties. By exploring these difficulties and traumas, we will be able to work together and to link how they impact upon self-esteem, relationships or issues related to stress or anger. With increased awareness, comes the realisation that you are no longer speaking into a void – that you have an opportunity and the capacity to resolve difficulties, enhance your sense of well being and work towards having more fulfilling relationships. Together we can develop healthy coping strategies and behaviours that will help you to move forward and thrive in your life.
What I do – Working with Teenagers
Teenagers and young people go through an intense transition between childhood and adulthood and it is a time of great change physically and emotionally. They can struggle with different issues from those of younger children and adults such as identity struggles, extreme peer pressure and generally fitting in. They often feel stuck between wanting independence and still needing guidance. Counselling provides for a non-judgemental space to talk to someone independently and confidentially and it is an opportunity to explore and understand feelings, thoughts and emotions outside of the family / friends environment.
Where I Work
I am available during the day and evenings and my private practice is based in my calm and welcoming room at Broadstone Counselling. Sessions are £40 each and last for 50 minutes. I offer an initial 40 minute assessment session which is free of charge. At this initial session we can meet and see how we might best move forward together, while I take some information on what has brought you to counselling. We can use this session to see what you would like to achieve and if you think that counselling is the right for you at this time.
I also offer a concessionary rate to trainee counsellor who are undertaking their 40 hours of personal therapy.
